Year 12 Student Samuel Quince represents NSW at National Indoor Hockey Titles

Year 12 student and MVAC Vice Captain Samuel Quince has started the year well. He played for NSW at the National Titles in Canberra in January.

Sam Quince played the pivotal role as goalkeeper in the NSW under 16 Indoor hockey team that defended their National Title.

The team were undefeated throughout the carnival and defeated Queensland maroon 3-2 in the Gold Medal match.

When asked about why they have fared so well, Sam stated ‘our coach Keiran Knowles says that ‘Good Structure beats Good Players’, and that is what we did, maintained our Structure under pressure’.

Alongside his Year 12 commitments Sam is trialling for a spot on the under 18 NSW outdoor team. He was on the Under 16 teams and the NSW All Schools team, which won Silver in 2023. We hold out hope that Sam will be successful in his endeavours and continue to be a positive role model for our entire school. Sam’s determination to maintain a high-level sporting pursuit and school ethic is a true example of The MVAC Way in action.
