MVAC Rowing Team compete at the All Schools Rowing Championships

On Saturday 16 November, the NSW All Schools Rowing Regatta took place at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, where 1,440 athletes from 41 schools came together for an impressive display of rowing talent. The MVAC Rowing Team, under the guidance of head rowing coach Mr. Murray Doust, represented the school with pride, demonstrating their skills, determination, and sportsmanship during the event.

The team consisted of 12 students. Our small, but mighty team included Lara and Will Thomas, Emma Bourke, Zoe Hutchison, Rian Watkins, Oliver Sampson, Ava Falzon, Nyah Simmons, Lily Wright, Nash Purdon, Will Katsamangos, and Jack Croker. They achieved some remarkable results amongst a sea of teams made up with much larger numbers.

Results:

  • Jack Croker: Gold Medal in the Men’s Single Scull

  • Zoe Hutchison: Silver Medal in the Women’s Single Scull

  • Lily Wright and Nyah Simmons: Bronze Medal in the Women’s Double Scull

  • Will Katsamangos and Nash Purdon: Silver Medal in the Men’s Double Scull

  • Rian Watkins and Oliver Sampson: Silver Medal in the Men’s Double Scull

  • Oliver Sampson: Bronze Medal in the Men’s Single Scull

The team would like to thank the following organisations and businesses for their ongoing support of our athlete’s,  Croker Oars, Manning River Rowing Club, Artworkn, and Nortia.

Congratulations to the MVAC Rowing Team for their outstanding performance and for representing the school with pride. We are so incredibly proud of your efforts not just on the water, but in the lead up to the event. The dedication shown towards training and team spirit was on display, and the results are showing. Well done to all.
